Helden Wide Range Chosen For Iraq Water Reconstruction

Posted on 01st Feb 2006

Thousands of Helden couplings and flange adaptors are among the products needed for the massive task of rebuilding Iraq's water and sewage infrastructure.

Midland Trading, Helden's agent in the United Arab Emirates, contributed more than 4,000 Wide Range flange adaptors and almost 2,500 couplings up to DN300 to the complete package of ductile iron and uPVC pipes and fittings, tools and heavy excavation machinery that was consolidated in Dubai and transported to Iraq by sea and land convoys.

The customer was USA-based Fluor, which secured the billion-dollar-plus contract for repairs and improvements in 17 cities across the country.

Important factors in the choice of Helden Wide Range products were compliance with the specification, and ability to provide everything that was needed within Fluor’s timescale - a performance that the company maintained when work in a further three cities was added to Fluor's remit. To date, 7,600 Helden items have been delivered.
