UltraGrip -Bourg Achard- France

Posted on 17th Sep 2013

Glynwed France, a Viking Johnson distributor, has supplied twenty UltraGrip Flange Adaptors & Couplings to main contractor Societe Normande De Travaux Publics Et Environnement (SNTPE) as part of the installation build for a new mains water network.  Syndicat d’Eau du Roumois et du Plateau du Neubourg (SERPN) Water utility specified large tolerance, reliable and high quality standard products that will guarantee the new water supply for the city of Bourg Achard, in Northern France.

The existing carbon steel pipe work had eroded and will now be replaced with a ductile pipe network and UltraGrip is an ideal choice for joining a variety of pipe materials.

Viking Johnson’s UltraGrip was supplied in a range of sizes, from DN80 to DN300 with a pressure rating of PN16 for this prestigious project. They were not only chosen because of their proven durability and design life expectancy of 50 years, but because of their ease of installation. As the product is pre-assembled prior to the installation, it allows engineers to quickly position over any pipe with tolerance range. Additionally, captive bolts can be reversed where space is limited and require only a single spanner or wrench to tighten.

The UltraGrip range utilises a patented progressive gripping mechanism. This works by increasing the end load restraint capability as the internal pressure of the pipe increases. One gripper system suits all recommended pipe materials and offers full end load resistance at full angular deflection.

UltraGrip is an outstanding solution for situations in which engineers are under pressure in confined spaces, or for repair situations in which a section of a pipe must be removed or replaced.

SNTPE commented on the project, complimenting the service provided by Viking Johnson, as they described it as “excellent service quality between the manufacturer up to the wholesaler in terms of delivery times and reactivity.”
