Viking Johnson Delivers Quality For Qatar Water Pipeline

Posted on 01st Apr 2006

Viking Johnson has been chosen to supply pipe joints and repair products for one of the Middle East's largest infrastructure projects because of its reliable delivery record and consistent quality at large diameters and in large quantities.

The joint venture of Consolidated Contractors International and Teyseer Contracting has placed a six-figure order for Large Diameter couplings, flange adaptors and dismantling joints for the Ras Laffan B Water Pipeline Project in Qatar.

The largest diameter is DN1600 - including more than 200 couplings - and consignments were shipped throughout the last quarter of 2005. Viking Johnson's distributor in Qatar is Al Obeidly & Gulf Eternit.

Part of the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation's strategy to develop the country's water supply, the Ras Laffan B Water Supply System will transmit potable water from Ras Laffan Industrial City to waterworks in the South of Qatar and around Doha.

Large Diameter pipe joints are part of Viking Johnson's Dedicated range, which can be supplied in standard and special designs to suit diameters from DN350 to DN5000 and working pressures up to PN100.

Where required, the company's design input can include Finite Element Analysis to ensure the best use of materials without compromising quality or performance; detailed co-operation with specifying engineers; and site visits to aid efficient installation.
