Viking Johnson Maintains Environmental Record
Posted on 01st Nov 2002
Viking Johnson has retained its ISO 14001 accreditation for environmental best practice. The pipe joints and repair products company was reaccredited with the standard following a comprehensive audit of its management systems by the British Standards Institute. Receiving accreditation for the ISO standard assures partner organisations that Viking Johnson operates to the most stringent environmental standards possible.
ISO 14001 covers everything from reducing pollution and minimising waste through to conserving energy. Viking Johnson was first awarded the standard in 1999.
As well as acting as a best practice beacon, the processes and procedures introduced to achieve ISO 14001 have helped the company with energy efficiency and to reduce operating costs. For industry specifiers, the Quality Standard is an assurance that all Viking Johnsons' products, such as MaxiFit, AquaGrip, Wall Couplings and Dedicated Range are all produced to the highest environmental guidelines.
We're really pleased to be re-accredited, says Malcolm Whitney, Viking Johnson's Manufacturing Director. Obviously when you are a partner to leading utility companies it is important to be seen as environmentally aware and operating to the highest standards. ISO 14001 is the only way to really demonstrate that you are committed to this aim.
